Moss and debris cleared, and the roof checked properly while we are up there.
Moss holds water against the tiles and pushes it sideways into laps it was never meant to reach. Clearing it is straightforward, and doing it without damaging the covering is the part that takes care.
We clean the roof and the gutters, and because we are up there anyway we tell you what else we can see rather than saving it for another visit.

Salt off the Channel corrodes ferrous metal far faster than ordinary damp air. We have taken tiles off roofs on the coast after nothing more than a breezy week, purely because the nails holding them had rusted through. That is a specification failure, not a tile failure.
If a roofer quotes the same specification for a Lydd bungalow as for a sheltered terrace in town, they either do not know the difference or have not priced for it.
