Kent is not one roofing environment

From our yard at Shadoxhurst we can be on a sheltered inland roof in Ashford or standing on an exposed bungalow at Lydd or Dymchurch inside half an hour, and those two roofs need different specifications.

Salt carried in off the Channel corrodes ferrous metals far faster than ordinary damp air, so we quote stainless fixings on exposed coastal work as standard. If a roofer quotes the same specification for a Lydd bungalow as for a sheltered terrace in town, they either do not know the difference or have not priced for it.
